Three kegs on the wall and spiritual philosophy

Isn't it strange how our tastes change as we get older? Or maybe it isn't even that, it's just another point to isolate ourselves and say "I am different than you because..." I just came home early from a keg party where everyone was drunk, or has been for the last two days straight. But, then again, its hard to talk spiritual philosophy with someone while they are doing their third keg stand. It was just one of those billboards that shoots down from the sky and hits you right in the pit of the stomach and you realize you really shouldn't be here, that this just isn't you. And then you get nauseaous and head for the nearest large opening.

So we are really going to focus this week and get the shit together to move up to Albuquerque. I am meeting with three possible new roomies for the Spring semester - all who are musicians, which may prove problematic during finals, but also may be soothing, just having noise and music all the time. But, I've met two of them and seem like pretty responsible nice guys. And, they have a three legged cat named Sophie that has some type of intestinal infection, but is totally cute and has constant flatulants. Plus its an awesome house. Two stories, artistic and there is a hot tub in the back yard. Gold star. Well, eye lids are getting heavy so am heading to bed. See how it all goes tomorrow.

Passing It Forward

Today at the restaraunt I had this couple that was passing through, they had just sold a ranch up by Magdalena and were moving to Florida. They seemed like just normal people at first, but then the man asked me if he could take care of these two elderly ladies' bill. He didn't even know them. He said that they had just been blessed and wanted to give back, to share their joy. So the man payed for the whole bill and left an eight dollar tip for the waiter.

Last night I had such an aweful night at the restaurant, I was so tired and stressed and on the verge of crying the last few hours. It was an aweful day. And then today, it was amazing, this one couple came into the restaraunt and payed a few unsuspecting bills, and the entire waitstaff and kitchen staff were cheerful. Genuinely upbeat and helpful, laughingand relaxed. It was so amazing how those little acts effect people so much. That they took the initiative to do it. That we all are capabile of the same act, it's just putting the ball in motion.

It just amazes me what that spontaneous gesture of kindness can do, how it absolutely effects your view of things. If you are reading this, thank you for effecting me with your actions and for the tip.

I saw that movie, Pass It Forward, a while ago. So, here is how I am going to pass it forward my mom's birthday is coming up, she is turning 53. I have already gotten her a present and a card, but I know that she will like this action whole-heartedly. I am going to buy 53 red balloons and 53 envelopes and tie each envelope to the balloon string and send out the same kindness on her birthday, as she so often has given to everyone. I will take pictures and post them.
